Soupe du Jour

Minestrone ~ When the weather turns cold, the first thing that I think of is soup and my first choice for soup is minestrone. I have been making  minestrone soup from a recipe out of the old Time-Life cookbook series for many decades and it is still the best recipe ever...maybe it is the pistou made of garlic, parsley and basil that you add just before serving that makes it so special; whatever, it is delicious! Of course lots of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and the accompaniment of a good glass of red wine doesn't hurt.

Yum! Are we ready to eat? Could you please pass the bread...

What is your favorite soup?

  7. Dearest La Vie,

YOU know what Vivre Bien is all about! Do you have enough for one more plate? I do love the garlic, parsley and basil that you add towards the end; yummy. A glass of red one, candles and a fireplace going -- voilà!

  18. Gorgeous pictures as always Adrienne! My husband is such a soup master, but I think my favorites that I make is a caldo verde portuguese soup (kale, potatoes, and chorizo soup) and asopao de pollo (a Puerto Rican dish that is something like a cross between stewed chicken, chicken sop, and paella). Always such a treat to come to your blog and see such quiet and beautiful comforts of home.
